Festive party decorations, plenty of good food and drink, and Larry Bright's well known "horse show music" provided the backdrop as owner Mary Ellen Areaux welcomed a steady stream of several hundred delighted friends, family, customers and neighbors on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the grand opening of the new Walkers West facility in Kaufman, Texas.

Under the bright sunshine of a gorgeous Texas spring day, with temperatures reaching the high 70s, visitors strolled leisurely around the grounds, admiring the horses in the bright new 40-stall facility.

I would like to thank all the people that helped make our Grand Opening such a success. Harold and Ximena Scott and friend Serina from Oak Grove, LA, Bill and Ruby Gerkey, my wonderful new neighbors who prepared brownies and other treats for the party, our Walkers West staff and last, but not least, P J Wamble from Lewisburg, TN who not only was our guest, but was instrumental in much of the preparation and also did the photography, with Ximena Scott as her assistant.
